eFootball v6.0.0 Update Is Now Live: Here's Everything New
After weeks of anticipation, Konami has officially released eFootball v6.0.0, marking the beginning of a new season for the football game.
The update went live on August 13, 2026, bringing more than routine data changes. Konami has introduced new ways to play, expanded tactical options and added fresh campaign content designed to give Dream Team players more reasons to return to the game.
The update is available across console, PC and mobile platforms.
This is also the first major eFootball update since Konami revealed its plans for the mid-August season update, meaning players can finally try the features that were previously announced.
So, what has actually changed?
1. Custom Tournament Finally Arrives
One of the biggest additions in v6.0.0 is the new Custom Tournament mode.
Players can now create and host their own tournaments rather than relying only on the game's existing competitive modes.
According to Konami, Custom Tournament supports up to eight participants. Hosts can also adjust tournament regulations and settings, giving friends and groups more control over how their competitions are organised.
There's another interesting feature: tournament organisers can spectate matches between participants in real time.
That could make Custom Tournament particularly interesting for groups of friends who want to organise their own eFootball competitions.
2. Fluid Formation Gives Players More Tactical Freedom
Another major addition is Fluid Formation.
The feature allows players to set different formations for attacking and defensive situations.
For example, a full-back can move into a more attacking position when the team has possession, while a winger can take a deeper defensive position when the team is defending.
This means your formation doesn't necessarily have to remain static throughout a match.
Instead, your team can change its shape depending on whether you're attacking or trying to protect a lead.
For players who enjoy tactical football, this could become one of the most important features in the update.
3. The New Overload Team Playstyle
Konami has also introduced a new Team Playstyle called Overload.
The idea is relatively straightforward: players concentrate around the side of the pitch where the ball is located to create a numerical advantage.
When attacking, this can make short passing combinations easier and help a team maintain possession in crowded areas.
When defending, the team can remain compact and quickly close down the player with the ball.
This gives Dream Team users another tactical option when building their squads.
4. Dynamic Volley Changes How You Can Finish
The gameplay itself has received a new addition called Dynamic Volley.
Players can now perform a volleyed shot towards goal by using the Stunning Shot command while the ball is in mid-air.
This creates another option when attacking crosses, chipped balls and other aerial situations.
Konami says the mechanic is designed to produce more dynamic shooting situations and more spectacular finishes.
For players who spend a lot of time creating chances from crosses or aerial passes, this could be one of the first features worth testing after installing the update.
5. New Animations Aim for More Realistic Matches
The update isn't only about new modes.
Konami has also introduced a wide range of new animations covering:
Player movement
The goal is to make actions on the pitch feel more authentic and natural.
These changes may not be as immediately noticeable as a new game mode, but they can have a significant effect on the overall feel of matches.
6. A Manager With Two Link-Up Plays
Another interesting addition is the arrival of managers with two Link-Up Plays.
Konami says Antonio Conte is the first manager introduced with two Link-Up Plays.
His skills include “Touchdown Pass C” and “One-Two Cut-In B”, giving players additional tactical possibilities when building their Dream Team.
This could make manager selection more important for players who want to build their squad around specific tactical combinations.
7. Daily Game Gets a New Look
The Daily Game has also been redesigned.
Konami has partnered with PlatinumGames to refresh the daily bonus experience and introduce Daily Super Play.
The new feature lets players recreate spectacular football moments through simple timing-based gameplay using players selected from a special roster.
It's a smaller feature compared with Custom Tournament or Fluid Formation, but it gives players another reason to check in regularly.
New Season Campaign Brings More Rewards
The launch of v6.0.0 is accompanied by a New Season Campaign running from August 13 until September 3, 2026.
Players can earn rewards through the Campaign Hub by playing eligible PvP or VS AI matches.
Among the listed rewards are:
Frank Lampard as a manager
There is also a special login present containing a “Highlight: New Season” Selection Contract.
More Events Are Coming During the Campaign
The new season campaign isn't limited to login rewards.
Konami has announced several activities, including European Powerhouses, where players can earn Event Points by playing against the AI.
Another event, Flexible: Partner Clubs Kick-off, is scheduled to begin on August 20 and allows players to choose their Match Level while completing challenges for rewards.
Additional campaign objectives will also be introduced on August 20 and August 27.
