The Old Country Gets New Content Today
Fans of the Mafia series have a new reason to return to Mafia: The Old Country.
Today, August 14, 2026, 2K and Hangar 13 have released Man of Honor, the game's first major story expansion. The DLC adds two new story chapters to Enzo Favara's journey and expands the game's Free Ride mode with additional activities.
The expansion is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
But this isn't simply another collection of side missions. One of the most interesting aspects of Man of Honor is the character joining Enzo's story: Ennio Salieri, the future Don of the Salieri crime family.
1. Two New Story Chapters
The main attraction of Man of Honor is its two new story chapters.
The story takes place in Sicily during the winter of 1905, after Enzo has become a trusted soldier of the Torrisi crime family.
Enzo is sent to assist Ennio Salieri, who has recently been released from prison and wants to settle old scores.
The expansion therefore gives players a closer look at Salieri long before his rise to power in Lost Heaven.
2. Ennio Salieri Returns
For long-time Mafia fans, Salieri's appearance may be the biggest attraction.
Players familiar with Mafia: Definitive Edition will recognise the name immediately. However, Man of Honor takes place decades before the events of that game.
Instead of the established crime boss fans already know, players encounter a younger Salieri, still building his reputation and settling his own unfinished business.
That gives the expansion an opportunity to explore another part of the character's history while connecting The Old Country to the wider Mafia timeline.
3. New Free Ride Content
Man of Honor isn't limited to the two story chapters.
The expansion also introduces exclusive Free Ride content, giving players additional reasons to explore the game's world after completing the main story.
Players can take on Salieri's Challenges, new jobs and other activities while exploring the game's Sicilian setting. The expansion also adds new collectibles and locations to discover.
This is particularly useful for players who have already finished Enzo's original story and wanted something new to do in the game's world.
4. New Weapons, Vehicles and More
The expansion also brings additional equipment and content to the experience.
Players can discover new weapons, vehicles, outfits and charms, adding more variety to both the story and Free Ride experience.
For players who enjoy exploring rather than simply rushing through the story, these additions give the expansion more replay value.
5. You Don't Need to Start the Whole Game Again
One useful detail is that players don't necessarily have to restart the entire campaign.
According to 2K's FAQ, after completing Chapter 5 of the main story, players can select the Man of Honor option from the main menu to access the new chapters.
The new chapters are also positioned between Chapters 5 and 6 when starting a new game with the expansion enabled.
That makes the expansion much easier to access for returning players.
6. The Omertà Collection Is Also Available
There is another major Mafia release today.
Mafia: The Omertà Collection brings together four games:
- Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition
- Mafia: Definitive Edition
- Mafia II: Definitive Edition
- Mafia III: Definitive Edition
The collection also includes the Man of Honor expansion with the Definitive Edition of The Old Country.
For someone who has never played the Mafia franchise, this could be an interesting way to experience the series across different periods of organised crime.
7. What About Existing Players?
Players who already own Mafia: The Old Country aren't being forced to purchase the entire collection.
2K says existing owners can receive discounts on the Omertà Collection depending on their platform and which Mafia games they already own. Steam also uses its Complete Your Collection pricing system.
The important thing is to check your platform's store before purchasing anything, because pricing and upgrade options can vary by region.
