Steam Discounts: Best PC Game Deals Worth Checking Right Now
Buying PC games at full price can quickly become expensive, especially when several major releases arrive in the same year. Fortunately, Steam discounts give PC gamers another option: waiting for the right deal and picking up games for considerably less.
Steam's current Specials section features thousands of discounted games, ranging from major AAA releases to older titles that have received substantial price cuts.
But with so many games on sale, finding the genuinely interesting deals can be difficult.
That's why we've picked out several discounts worth checking, while keeping the prices and discount percentages tied to the current Steam listings rather than guessing.
Cyberpunk 2077 — 70% Off
One of the most notable current discounts is Cyberpunk 2077.
Steam currently lists the game at 70% off, bringing its listed US price from $59.99 to $17.99.
For players who have never visited Night City, this is one of the more attractive ways to get into CD Projekt Red's open-world RPG without paying the original full price.
The game combines:
- Open-world exploration
- Story-driven missions
- Character progression
- Gunplay and melee combat
- Cybernetic upgrades
- A large futuristic city
The Phantom Liberty expansion is also discounted separately, currently listed at 40% off.
Is it worth it?
If you enjoy open-world RPGs and haven't played Cyberpunk 2077 yet, the current discount makes it considerably easier to recommend.
Resident Evil 4 — 75% Off
Horror fans have another strong option.
Resident Evil 4 is currently listed at 75% off, reducing its US price from $39.99 to $9.99 on Steam.
The game combines survival-horror elements with faster-paced combat and exploration.
At around ten dollars, it's particularly interesting for players looking for a major single-player experience without spending much.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 — 70% Off
If you prefer action rather than horror, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is currently listed at 70% off, bringing its listed US price from $59.99 to $17.99.
The game offers a brutal third-person action experience set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
It's particularly interesting for players who enjoy:
- Third-person shooters
- Large-scale battles
- Cooperative gameplay
- Science-fiction settings
- Fast-paced combat
The discount makes it one of the more substantial price reductions currently visible on Steam's Specials page.
The Witcher 3: Complete Edition — 80% Off
Another classic deal is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition.
Steam currently lists the Complete Edition at 80% off, reducing its US price from $49.99 to $9.99.
The Complete Edition is particularly attractive because it includes the base game together with its major expansions.
For gamers who want a huge single-player RPG with exploration, quests and a long campaign, this is one of the easier deals to recommend.
Batman: Arkham Collection — 85% Off
Superhero fans shouldn't overlook the Batman: Arkham Collection.
Steam currently lists the collection at 85% off, reducing its US price from $59.99 to $8.99.
The collection includes three Batman games, making the discount particularly interesting for anyone who hasn't experienced the series.
Instead of purchasing several games individually, players can get the collection at a significantly reduced price.
Should You Buy a Game Just Because It's Discounted?
Not necessarily.
A 90% discount doesn't automatically make a game a good purchase.
Before buying, consider three things:
1. Check the reviews
A large discount isn't useful if the game doesn't match your interests.
Steam's user-review system can provide a quick indication of how players currently feel about a game.
2. Check the system requirements
A discounted game isn't a bargain if your PC can't run it properly.
This is especially important for newer AAA games.
3. Check your backlog
This might be the hardest one.
Many PC gamers already have dozens of unplayed games in their Steam libraries.
Buying another game simply because it is 70–80% off can turn a good deal into an unnecessary purchase.
Steam Discounts Can Be Better Than Buying at Launch
One of the biggest advantages of PC gaming is that players don't always have to buy games immediately.
Waiting several months—or sometimes longer—can result in significant discounts.
Games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil 4 and The Witcher 3 demonstrate how dramatically the price of major titles can fall over time.
This doesn't mean every game should be ignored at launch.
Some games are worth experiencing immediately, particularly if you want to participate in the community while everyone is playing.
But for players on a limited budget, patience can make a huge difference.
Steam's Themed Fests Are Also Worth Watching
Steam doesn't rely only on its major seasonal sales.
Valve also runs themed events throughout the year. For example, Steam Cyberpunk Fest took place in August 2026, highlighting cyberpunk games, discounts and demos.
These smaller events can be useful because they focus discounts and demos around a particular genre.
So if you're waiting for a specific type of game, it can be worth watching Steam's upcoming event schedule rather than waiting only for the Summer or Winter Sale.
